Who I Am?

I was born in Easley South Carolina on a small farm. I still live on the same farm, in the same house, with the same people. I live with my Mom and Dad who have lived there for about twenty years. My Dad is from Greenville and my Mom is from a small town in Connecticut, outside of the capital Harford. My Dad’s descendants are originally from Arran Scotland, that’s why our farm is named Arran Farm. My biggest passion is cycling or racing bicycles. My overall goal with this fabulous sport is to make a living out of it. I know for sure that I need another plan as well.

The best book I have read recently is Cycling On 10 Dollars a Day. It is about the journey of being a professional cyclist. It is not all what you think it to be. The book taught me to slow down and enjoy things and not just to move on, but to love and enjoy the process. This is not just in cycling, but in life-take time to look around you.

My perspective in life is to not let negative people drag you down. People who are not positive are just not worth being around. I have learned this from experience. I have also learned to be my own type of person. If you don’t like who I am then that’s on you. I have learned to not care what others think of me as long as I love the God and everyone around me to a certain point. My dream right now is to be on Lux, and the National cycling teams when I am a junior cyclist in the future.  My priorities in life are God, family, school, friends, and cycling.

I am Dyslexic so I learn different than others. I have a 504 educational plan, but I barely use it. I may need it for more time on tests and especially spelling. I usually learn in a visual or writing way. Writing things down helps me remember it better. I am surprising pretty good at writing though and interping text. That is why I wanted to take this class. I like a teacher who is happy to teach, confident, and passionate for what they’re teaching. It sees so far you are very much this way which will make it much easier for me.
